Finally got the paint I needed to finish everything that's been lying around for the last couple weeks. :d
This is protarchaeopteryx, a little bitty 3-foot dino related to the later oviraptors. It's made of foam, apoxie, and feathers from turkeys, pheasant, and ruffed grouse.
I learned something very, very important about stability on this one, mainly that apoxie is more important than I previously expected and Bondo can not be used as a replacement. If a sculpture is to be covered in something light like feathers or fur and is balanced on one leg, it seems the best thing to do is just cover the weight-bearing limb with apoxie anyway.
As a result of this learning process, the feathers on the back leg are a bit messy. OTZ Oh well, now I know for next time...
